About Us

Our mission is to advance public education for all students while fostering
the dignity and worth of members in our organization. This website is an
essential component in furthering our promise to providing support to not
only GMEA members, but to other individuals as well. GMEA represents
288 teachers, educational support personnel, counselors, librarians, school
psychologists, and nurses who serve school children in either professional
or support capacity.

In addition, GMEA also nominates an individual from the community for
the Friend of Education Award. Nomination criteria are leadership acts
and support of education on a local level that establish the nominee as
a true friend of education.
